Fisher-Price Activity Box

Hello mommies!

Well this particular review has been more than overdue, credits to my mommy brain dabbling into multiple things!!

Here i am going to review one of our first and favourite toys, Activity box by Fisher Price.

This activity box/cube was gifted to A by one of my very good friends from school. It was introduced to A when he was 6 months old. Initially it didn't interest him much. Just the lights and sound, what more can we expect from a 6mo.

I used to put the cube infront of him and let him explore it. By the time he was 8 months old he knew everything that he could do with it, that was quite a lot, given the no. of activities. The shape sorting needs finer skills, so he couldn't do that, but he knew if if something was put from top it would come out from the hippos mouth.

I keep rotating the toys, but this is one toy that has constantly been on our shelf since the time we received it.

The box has 5 sides and multiple activities to engage your little one. 8 shapes that can be sorted from the top, these shapes spill out as the baby lifts the hippo's mouth on one ofvthe sides.
  • One side has a dummy phone and a colorful keypad to teach numbers and colors.
  • On another side there is this cute butterfly book that plays "abcd " and a number song when one flips the page.
  • One of the sides has a peekaboo lion. The interactive lion blurts out different things each time it is pushed down.
  • Below the peekaboo lion is a piano playing different notes and blinking lights.
  • There is also an attached spiral bead bar, rolling ball and leaf shaped clankers.
The Fisher price activity cube is good to enhance the fine motor skills, hand and eye coordination, sensory and linguistic skills. The toy can be introduced at 6 months and will be useful upto 3 years with the assorted activities it offers. What I love the most about it is it's variety, it can be a great toy even without having the batteries on.
It is easy to carry and quite sturdy.
What may not work for few-
Too much variety in one box can be distracting for the child.
Expensive- the activity cube is priced at 2700 Rs. You may get it a little cheaper during online sale, the lowest price that I saw online was 2100.

All in all a great toy!

Capsule wardrobe ideas for a new mom

Hello people,
The New Year is right here with lots of excitement, hopes and new beginnings, to welcome the coming year with swag and style, we have come together to bring plethora of fashion inspiration in this "Fashion-a-thon" a fashion blog-train initiative by Ruchie of Wigglingpen.

Before you move ahead and see what I have in store for you please check out what Sayeri says on her lovely fashion blog-- Here.
I have never been a fashion enthusiast, but who doesn't like wearing nice clothes and look good? I am someone who would rather accentuate a simple kurti with a heavy dupatta or a jacket or a top/tee with a shrug or scarf.  Although, I try not to splurge, but don't know how i end myself up in piles of clothes with still nothing to wear. If you have read my other posts you will know that I am trying to go the minimal way and hence I have almost limited my shopping; if i have to buy a dress for myself, I give away one or two from my wardrobe.

Right now i am a lazy…

Review- Pantene Oil Replacement

Gone are the hostel days when I used to sit with my friends for long head massage/ oiling sessions along with lots of gossip.

I now end up running behind a toddler with my hair crazily tied up in a messy bun. Also now i don't  really like oiling my hair, may be because i don't have time for it and also because washing hair after oiling needs extra efforts.

So, I rarely use oil, thankfully I am blessed with good hair, but still one needs to take some bit of care. With approaching winter and hair getting dry I was wondering which oil to buy, and just then I came across this Oil replacement cream. What a wonderful product for people who can't stand oil or who have no time or luxury to get their hair oiled.

The New Pantene Oil Replacement has Pro-V and goodness of oils; giving you two times stronger hair.

Why I liked this product- when I first used it, I felt my hair a little sticky, but I realised I had used a larger quantity. The stickiness though went away in sometime. T…

How to help your baby with speech?

"Nov you" "Owe you"
Yes, I am waiting for my little man to say that, since he hasn't yet said "love you" to me, I am only guessing the sound of it (knowing he doesn't say "La" still) Like everything that happened on its own time, this too shall.
In my previous post (Click here) I shared some bits from my baby's vocabulary and speech journey, each day I have something new to listen to and it only makes my smile wider.
A child has her/his own time to meet the milestones, there is no magic wand to have them up n running and dancing and singing. Out of all the milestones speech has the widest range from 8-9 months to 24 months for their first words.
The two types of communication that a child uses are Receptive and Expressive. The Receptive communication means that he/she knows a particular word and Expressive communication is that they are able to speak or express it. For example, a baby may know what water is, but may not be able to…
